Проект «Водные сценарии для Европы и стран-соседей» (Water Scenarios for Europe and Neighbouring States, SCENES) 6РП объявил конкурс на включение в состав консорциума новых партнеров. Проект связан с разработкой и анализом набора всеобъемлющих сценариев будущего Европы (в широком смысле) в плане запасов пресной воды и их использования. SCENES is a 4-year project developing and analyzing a set of comprehensive scenarios of Europe’s freshwater futures up to 2025, covering all of “Greater” Europe reaching to the Caucasus and Ural Mountains, and including the Mediterranean rim countries of north Africa and the near East. The project is seeking a new partner able to provide knowledge and expertise on possible water technology developments over the next 20 years. The new partner will provide data and undertake research in order to provide the SCENES project with the information on water utility and technology matters. Among the specific types of data and knowledge of interest to the project are:
  • The location and characteristics of surface and groundwater abstraction facilities throughout Greater Europe.
  • The location and characteristics of wastewater treatment plants throughout Greater Europe.
  • Information on possible future water technology developments which might affect water utilization over the next 20 years. For example, could desalination of brackish waters become increasingly common, or how likely is it that significant industrial changes throughout Europe will change regional water demands?
  • Development of indicators to analyze the socio-economic, environmental and ecological impact of water availability scenarios on water services related to water utilities.
Expected duration of participation in project: from June 2007 to December 2010. Anticipated budget for the selected partner is 100.000 Euros.
